announcement in this mega event taking place at Barcelona, Spain.
Some other announcement
that took place in this event is:
Mobile payments
business gets bigger: More smartphone makers really want you to pay for
stuff with your mobile device. Samsung formally made the leap into mobile
payments with Samsung Pay, which launches this summer. Samsung says the service
will work with contact less, NFC-enabled terminals and traditional
"magstripe" terminals.
Virtual reality inches
closer to reality: While Samsung works on a new version of its Gear VR, HTC
announced it will partner with Valve Software on a virtual-reality headset

Smartphones don't
have to be pricey: Microsoft is attempting a different approach for its
line of Lumia smartphones. The company unveiled two new Lumia devices —
including a "phablet" — that start at $177. The smartphones will
include quad-core processors, large HD screens and storage expandable to 128

S line of smartphones. Qualcomm thinks it's created a superior fingerprint
option with its Snapdragon Sense ID 3-D Fingerprint technology. It's based on
ultrasound tech and will even work if your hands are sweaty or have any
condensation. Qualcomm claims it can also work beyond buttons, potentially
leveraging the touchscreen or even the body of the phone.
